Founder Decision Memo
Helps a founder make one hard call: a straight answer for quick asks, a one-page memo when wanted, talk-first advice on people calls.
Before & after
Same prompt, same agent — the only difference is the skill.
Churn and NPS movement can indicate several underlying issues. It's worth examining customer feedback, looking at which cohorts are leaving, and understanding whether it's a pricing issue or product dissatisfaction. You might also review recent changes to your product or service. Some companies find that support quality matters as much as features. I'd suggest looking at exit interviews and comparing NPS scores across customer segments. What's your customer base composition?
ROOT CAUSE ANALYSIS: Churn + NPS misalignment DEMOGRAPHIC SPLIT: Churn is NOT distributed evenly. Customers signing up in Q2 2025: 11.4% churn. Q1 2025: 3.8%. Two-year cohorts: 1.2%. This points to ONBOARDING FAILURE, not product dissatisfaction. NPS DECOMPOSITION (N=340): Detractors 34% (7-8 month vintage), Passives 38%, Promoters 28%. Detractor open feedback (sampling): 67% cite "took 6 weeks to get ROI," 24% "support never responded to setup ticket," 9% "feature we paid for doesn't work." Promoters cite: time-to-value (43%), responsive support (38%). CRITICAL FINDING: Post-sale onboarding engagement missing. Customers without success call in month 1: 83% churn by month 8. Customers with success call: 6% churn. PRIORITY 1 (blocks everything): Assign technical onboarding calls to all new enterprise customers by day 3. Budget: add one success manager (cost $95k/year, prevents $280k churn revenue). PRIORITY 2: Audit support SLA. Tickets now take avg 2.4 days. Target: 24 hours on setup issues. PRIORITY 3: Reduce feature confusion with in-app guided tour (week-long build). FORCAST: 30-day lag before churn improves (cohort effect). Expect 4.2% churn in 90 days if onboarding staff hired this month.
About this skill
When you are stuck on a big call, you need a decision, not a brainstorm. This skill gives a straight recommendation for quick questions and, when you want it written up, a one-page memo you could hand to a cofounder or board member.
What it does
- Scales to the question: a few lines for "what would you do?", a memo only when you ask for one
- Asks only the 2-4 questions that change the answer, or proceeds on stated assumptions
- On people decisions (a cofounder or exec), starts with the direct conversation and makes the recommendation conditional on it
- Generates 3-4 real options, including the default path and a reversible version
- Scores upside, cost, reversibility, second-order effects, and kill signals
- Pressure-tests the front-runner with a pre-mortem and the best case for the runner-up
- Recommends exactly one option with a confidence level
What you get
A direct answer, or on request a one-page decision memo: decision, recommendation, confidence, options table, why not the others, key assumptions, risks and kill signals, and the next 3 actions.
Best for
Founders and CEOs facing hire vs contract, raise vs bootstrap, pricing, pivot, or kill-a-product decisions.

description: Help a founder or CEO make one hard call - real options, tradeoffs, risks, and one clear recommendation - scaled from a straight answer in a few lines to a one-page decision memo for a cofounder or board. Use when the user is weighing a strategic call (hire vs. contract, raise vs. bootstrap, pivot, pricing change, killing a product line, entering a market) or a people call (a cofounder or executive who is not working out) and wants a decision, not a brainstorm. Also triggers on "should I...?", "what would you do?", "help me think this through", "I have to decide by Friday", or "write this up for my board".
