I almost quit in month three.

47 videos. 900 subscribers. My best video that month did 312 views, and I remember doing the math: at this rate, six years to 100k.

Here's what the math didn't know.

Month four, video 61 did 40,000 views. Nothing about it was better. I'd just finally made enough of them that one landed — and once one lands, the back catalog stops being dead weight and starts being a library.

THE TRAP
Month three is exactly where two curves cross. Your novelty energy is gone. Your compounding hasn't started. Every input feels the same and every output looks flat, so quitting feels like the rational read of the evidence.

It isn't. It's the read of an incomplete sample.

WHAT ACTUALLY GOT ME THROUGH
I stopped tracking views weekly. Weekly numbers are noise dressed as signal — you're reading variance and calling it a trend. I moved to a 30-day rolling average, which is slow enough to be honest.

Then I set a floor instead of a goal: two posts a week, no matter how they perform. Goals fail on other people's behavior. Floors only fail on yours.

Open your analytics. Set the window to 90 days, not 7. Look at the shape.
