(counterintuitive) 3. "The TikTok algorithm paid me 800 dollars while I slept." (proof + specificity) 4. "3 creators earned more this month by posting less." (social proof) 5. About this skill
Your subject line gets the open, and then the first sentence says "Hey friends, this week I want to talk about..." and the reader is gone. Or it repeats the subject they just read. This skill writes the opening lines of a newsletter issue so the subject, preview text, and first sentence each give a different reason to keep reading.
What it does
- Maps what the inbox actually shows (From, Subject, Preview) and flags overlap or a wasted preview, like a greeting or "View in browser" showing up as preview text
- Pulls the hook from the most specific detail in your issue (a quote, an odd number, a mistake, a reversal), not a stock opener
- Gives 3-5 variants, each using a different hook mechanism, so a test compares ideas and not just wording
- Writes the bridge sentence that turns each hook toward your point, and notes where in the body the hook pays off
- Flags problems a hook can't fix: a buried payoff, a sponsor block at the top, or opens inflated by privacy features
- Matches your voice when you paste past issues
