PromptDefine my brand voice so my team writes consistently across all content
Beforegeneric AI agent
Brand voice is important for consistency. You'd want to think about your tone — are you formal or casual? Professional or playful? You should collect examples of content you like and don't like, and figure out what's different about them. What words do you use a lot? What phrases should you avoid? Do you use contractions? How do you address the audience — formal "you" or casual? You might write out some do's and don'ts. Think about your industry and your audience — that affects voice a lot. You could share examples with your team and get their feedback. It helps to write a few sample sentences so people can see what you're going for. The more specific you can be, the better. Once you have a guide, share it widely so everyone has the same reference.

BRAND VOICE GUIDE

TONE PILLARS (Rank 1-4 by dominance)
1. Conversational + approachable (speak like you're talking to a colleague over coffee)
2. Direct + no fluff (skip the corporate jargon; say what you mean in 10 words, not 20)
3. Playful + human (admit mistakes, use light humor, show personality)
4. Trustworthy + authoritative (you know your stuff; back claims with data)

VOCABULARY RULES
DO:
• Use contractions (you're, we've, doesn't) — feels real
• Short words over long: "help" not "facilitate"; "use" not "leverage"
• Second person: "you" beats "one" or "the user"
• Action verbs: "build" not "construct"; "fix" not "remediate"

DON'T:
• Clichés (innovative, cutting-edge, synergy, game-changer, best-in-class, paradigm)
• Vague adjectives (nice, good, really, very, basically)
• Passive voice ("mistakes were made" → "we messed up")
• Corporate preachiness (all-caps FOR EMPHASIS, multiple exclamation marks!!!)

EXAMPLES
WEAK: "Our innovative platform delivers cutting-edge solutions to maximize efficiency."
STRONG: "We built this so you can ship 3x faster."

WEAK: "We are committed to excellence and customer success."
STRONG: "When you win, we win. That's it."

PLATFORM VOICE ADAPTATIONS
→ LinkedIn: Slightly more formal; cite data. Keep Pillar 2 (direct) but dial down Pillar 3 (playful)
→ Slack/Discord: Maximum casual; memes okay; banter is your brand
→ Email: Balanced (hit Pillars 1 + 2); personal signature line okay
→ Docs/Help: Formal instructions (Pillar 4 first), humor optional, clarity mandatory

TEAM ENFORCEMENT
→ Use in template: "Does this pass the voice check?" (Read it out loud. Do you sound like us?)
→ Example library: Pinned 10 strong/weak pairs in team Slack
→ Feedback loop: Flag off-voice copy in reviews; explain the why
