Course Launch Runway Planner
Turns your revenue goal and list size into a dated launch plan: seed content, launch event, cart emails, real deadlines.
Before & after
Same prompt, same agent — the only difference is the skill.
Creating a launch plan for a course involves several moving parts—you'll want to plan out your content marketing leading up to the launch, set up your email sequence, and decide on cart open and close dates. A typical approach might be to start building anticipation a few weeks before, maybe 3-4 emails, and then have a urgency period when the cart opens. You'd want to think about your audience and what messaging would resonate. I can outline a general timeline for you, but it would help to know more about your course and audience to make it more specific.
LAUNCH RUNWAY: 6 WEEKS TOTAL WEEK 1-2: AWARENESS PHASE (Soft Launch) Email 1 (Day 1): "What I Learned Building This Course" (story angle, no pitch) Email 2 (Day 4): Case study from course beta tester (social proof early) Email 3 (Day 7): Three problems the course solves (pain point activation) Content: 1 YouTube video, 3 LinkedIn posts Goal: Build email list to 500 (cold outreach begins) WEEK 3-4: DESIRE PHASE (Value Stack) Email 4 (Day 10): "Here's What's Inside" (syllabus, sample module video) Email 5 (Day 14): Application bonus teaser (perceived scarcity) Email 6 (Day 17): Success metrics from previous students Content: Guest interview, podcast appearance Goal: List to 800, engagement rate above 25% WEEK 5: CART OPEN Email 7 (Day 21, CART OPEN): "Doors Open for 10 Days Only" + live replay link Email 8 (Day 23): Testimonial video montage Email 9 (Day 25): FAQ addressing top objections Email 10 (Day 27): "48 Hours Left" scarcity push Goal: 150 enrollments minimum WEEK 6: CART CLOSE Email 11 (Day 28, 4pm): "Last Chance: Closes Tonight at Midnight" Email 12 (Day 29, CART CLOSE): Post-cart email to non-buyers, waitlist option Content: Student success story published Conversion tracking: Revenue, customer acquisition cost, refund rate BRAND-MATCHED: Tone, emoji usage, call-to-action style aligned with your prior course launches
About this skill
Cart week comes and nobody buys. The emails went out and nothing happened. Most launch plans skip the math, pitch a cold list with no warm-up, and use countdown timers nobody believes. This skill first checks whether your revenue goal is realistic for your list. Then it builds a dated runway where every email and post has one job and a defined audience.
What it does
- Works out launch math from your goal, price, and list size: sales needed, event signups needed, and the conversion rate that implies. It tells you plainly when the goal doesn't fit the list.
- Plans four phases (warm-up, seed, launch event, cart) with dates, social content, and one call to action per phase.
- Writes the cart sequence as a table: send time, segment, subject line, job, and which student result goes where. Buyers are dropped from sales emails, and there's an opt-out for people who aren't interested in this launch.
- Builds urgency only on real constraints like cohort caps, bonuses that actually expire, and real close dates. It also plans a mid-cart spike so sales don't stall in the middle of the week.
- Sets a day-2 checkpoint with decision rules that find the leaking funnel stage, plus a pre-flight checklist for checkout, payment plans, and buyer tagging.
- Diagnoses a past launch that flopped, stage by stage, before suggesting fixes.
What you get
A launch plan you can work from: the math, phase dates, a day-by-day calendar, the full email sequence table, the urgency plan, checkpoints, and a pre-flight list. If you only ask for one piece, like the close-day email, you get just that piece.
Best for
Course creators, coaches, and educators selling a cohort or self-paced course to their own email list. It works for a first launch or for fixing one that underperformed.
